In the City of Morta, two people can be seen walking. As they walk, they pass many people, some with duel-monsters, who call themselves guardians. In the City of Morta, Duel-Monsters and Humans live side-by-side in a normal fashion. Some think it's scary, seeing large dragons flying in the sky, creatures popping up from the shadows, spellcasters using their magic to manipluate the elements, for these reasons, most people say the monsters should stay in their cards, only to appear when summoned in duels. But for those who live there, Morta is a normal place. The creatures do not frighten them, no, they rarely ever even suprise them. To them, life IS a duel, and all that live ARE creatures, even though some of them can't do the fantastic things that the guardians can. The residents of Morta say that their city is only the beginning, that soon, more people will realise the true value of the duel-monsters as they have. Until then, they are content within the borders of their fine city, founded by a girl and her ultimate Guardian to escape the disapproving gaze of those who cannot understand. And so, the story begins...
